I have a finished pair of socks to show you. I finished them some time last week (don’t remember when) and I’m going to be wearing them for the first time today.

They’re made with a very textured stitch. I made my usual sock recipe here, grabbing the stitch pattern from last year’s Knitscene. It was exactly what I wanted, something interesting without being too hard to follow visually. This means no notes in my knitting bag. I’m a big fan of that.

I’ve had this yarn (Fleece Artist) in my stash since December 2006. It was well overdue to become a pair of socks.

When I started these back in September I thought I could make a pair of socks for each remaining month of the calendar year, but these took two and now I have three more pairs to make in the next two months, plus a ton of gift knitting to do. Can I make it? I kind of doubt it, but it’ll be fun trying.

Your socks look great! And I find without a ‘pattern’ that I have to keep checking, they go much faster!
