punctuated rib socks

August 11, 2009

Here’s what’s on the needles now.

They’re the Punctuated Rib socks from Knitting Socks with Handpainted Yarn. Normally, since they’re for someone who reads this blog and not for me I wouldn’t be showing them to you, but she’s going to see them getting knit anyway. I wanted to make these socks with this shade of Koigu as soon as I got my copy of the book. I think Koigu lends itself well to stranded patterns (like this one), and my mother likes it. The socks are for her. There. The secret’s out.

Though as soon as I cast on for these socks I wanted to make these, and then these. I’m still dreaming about them, in fact. Could I be getting back full force into sock knitting?

Tonight I’m seeing Tori Amos and then I’m following along to catch the NYC and NJ shows Thursday & Friday. Yeah, I’m that kind of Tori Amos fan. I think she’s the only artist that I’ve felt the same about since I first heard her in 1994. She was also my first concert when I was only seventeen. Hopefully I’ll get to blog when I’m away, but if not, I’ll see you when I return.
