I went on a button shopping trip this weekend and came back with so many more buttons than expected. I’ve been working on the French Press Felted Slippers, so I needed some buttons for those (and maybe some upcoming projects). And it’s always good to get some sets of buttons for future sweaters, especially when you’re paying for them by the bag and not by the individual button.
The buttons I chose for the slippers totally blew my button budget (not that I ever had one in the first place) and ended up costing three times as much as the bag of buttons did, but since I’m using scrap yarn for the project I figured it was justified. The slippers are still in the process of being felted and at the moment resemble huge, half felted foot-boats, but that should be rectified next time I do laundry.
I got a lot of yellow buttons this time and was also able to make some of last trip’s single buttons into little button sets.

Those slippers look really nice! I knit some thrummed socks last winter, but I’m not liking them as much as I thought.
Those slippers are so cute! I have so many pretty buttons after our trip that I’m going to have to come up with something more than just displaying them in jars.
